NIOS Board Information...

NIOS 10th Board (Secondary Level)

  • Eligibility: Students must be at least 14 years old.
  • Subjects: Students need to choose a minimum of five subjects, with at least one language subject. Subjects include languages (Hindi, English, Urdu, etc.), Mathematics, Science, Social Science, Economics, Business Studies, Home Science, and more.
  • Examinations: Conducted twice a year, in April-May and October-November.
  • Assessment: Combination of theory exams and practicals (where applicable). Internal assessments and tutor-marked assignments (TMAs) also contribute to the final marks.
  • Certification: On passing, students receive the Secondary School Certificate from NIOS.

NIOS 12th Board (Senior Secondary Level)

  • Eligibility: Students must have passed the 10th standard from a recognized board and be at least 15 years old.
  • Subjects: Similar to the 10th board, students need to choose a minimum of five subjects, including at least one language. Options include sciences, commerce, humanities, and vocational subjects.
  • Examinations: Also conducted twice a year, in April-May and October-November.
  • Assessment: Includes theory exams, practicals (for applicable subjects), internal assessments, and TMAs.
  • Certification: On successful completion, students receive the Senior Secondary School Certificate from NIOS.
